The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested internet service providers (ISPs) in the country to block an additional group of illegal offshore gambling and affiliate marketing websites.
The latest sites to join the ranks are Stay Casino, Bambet, Dazard Casino, Level Up Casino, Rocketplay Casino, Wild Tornado Casino, Cobra Casino, Cobra Bet, Casinority and Pokies Lab.
Following investigation, the ACMA found these sites to be operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The blocking of operator’s websites is one of a range of enforcement options to protect Australians against illegal online gambling. Since its first blocking request in November 2019, the ACMA blocked 481 illegal gambling websites.
The measures already resulted in the voluntary retirement of more than 160 operators from the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing the gambling rules in 2017.
