BGC Partners to Deliver its Crypto Exchange by 2023

Joining a long list of traditional Wall Street firm entering the crypto space, global brokerage company BGC Partners (BGCP) has announced it is going to build a cryptocurrency exchange.

Speaking with Bob Pisani on CNBC during the Piper Sandler’s Global Exchange & Brokerage Conference in New York, the firm’s CEO Howard Lutnick broke the news and said the plans are to launch the new service by the end of the year or early 2023.

Lutnick sees no obstacles in his company’s ability to compete with global crypto exchanges given its technology and  he’s bullish on BGC adding a crypto offering, and the company can compete with global crypto exchanges given its technology and speed of BGC’s platforms.

Being bullish on BGCP offering crypto services and with the needed experience in the financial world, Lutnick commented on the SEC Chairman Gary Gensler wanting to regulate the crypto sector, noting “So what.”
