A developer behind popular meme cryptocurrency SHIB on Wednesday shared plans of the Shiba Inu ecosystem expanding with a decentralized stablecoin, a collectible card game and a reward token named TREAT.
In a Medium blog post, pseudonymous developer Shytoshi Kusama revealed that “independent developers” are currently working on a decentralized stablecoin called SHI that “seems to avoid the issues found in other moonshots” (like TerraUSD).
The team plans to launch towards the end of the year, the blog post said, with further details being shared close to the final stages of the project.
Furthermore, TREAT, the SHIB metaverse’s future reward token, will be tied to the Shiba Collectible Card Game. Without describing the mechanics, the blog post revealed that the token will also “help provide balance to” Shiba Inu’s stablecoin.
After DOGE, Shiba Inu is the second most popular dog-themed cryptocurrency. The latest crypto boom of 2021 provided the meme coin a great jump start, fueled by listings on Binance and Coinbase.
The SHIB team is also building a metaverse project with more than 100,000 virtual land plots.
