After Instagram, Facebook Is Now Also Supporting NFTs

Meta Platforms on Monday announced that it is now also allowing users to upload their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Facebook, a feature announced two months ago by Meta technical program manager Navdeep Singh.

Initially rolled out as an Instagram NFT integration in May, the updated May 10 Meta blog post reveals the feature is now available on Facebook. Both social media platforms now enable users to connect their crypto wallet and share their digital creations.

Meta’s blog post read:

“As we continue rolling out digital collectibles on Facebook and Instagram, we’ve started giving people the ability to post digital collectibles that they own across both Facebook and Instagram. This will enable people to connect their digital wallets once to either app in order to share their digital collectibles across both.”

With the Facebook integration, Meta is tapping into a huge potential. Billions of users worldwide could be taking their first steps into cryptocurrencies under the ‘care’ of the social media powerhouse, which undoubtedly has a strategy lined up on how best to monetize this.

The Facebook and Instagram integration support NFTs from the Ethereum, Polygon and Flow blockchains.
