FIFA Launching Best World Cup Moments NFT Clips this Month

The world’s football governing body FIFA is launching an NFT-based (non-fungible token) collection of historical World Cup clips.

Ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, FIFA+ Collect will launch in September giving global football enthusiasts the opportunity to trade best goals, assists, saves and celebrations from World Cup history.

The “moments in time” NFT clips are supported by the Algorand blockchain, the official Qatar 2022 World Cup blockchain and wallet partner.

Romy Gai, FIFA’s chief business officer, said about the FIFA NFT collection:

“Fandom is changing and football fans around the world engage with the game in new and exciting ways.

“This exciting announcement makes FIFA collectibles available to any football fan, democratizing the ability to own a part of the FIFA World Cup.”

The 2022 FIFA World Cup, that will kick off November 21 and end on December 18, is also a big event for one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Crypto.com, after becoming the first crypto trading platform signed as official sponsor of the event.
