With the deal, Immutable’s fast, gas-free and carbon-neutral platform will power the Personal Corner marketplace, enabling athletes to leverage web3 and increase revenue by selling NFTs in a direct-to-consumer model.
‘Built by athletes for athletes’, Personal Corner was founded in 2016 by NFL star Dez Bryant and provides a gaming experience that improves NFTs based on real-time game stats from athletes. In March Immutable closed a $200 million Series C funding round led by Singaporean state-owned investment firm Temasek with participation from well known investors Animoca Brands and Tencent, giving the company a $2.5 billion valuation.
Mid-June, the scaling platform launched a $500 million venture fund focused on Web 3 games and NFT projects.
