The most exciting NFT sports projects around, Ethereum based fantasy sports game Sorare, has partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
The NBA, NBPA and Sorare all shared the news of a multi-year partnership on Wednesday via Twitter ahead of the start of the 2022-23 NBA season in October.
Sorare is now the “Official NFT Fantasy Partner” of the NBA and fantasy sports fanatics can expect Sorare’s NBA game to be launching soon and therefore should start working on their fantasy line up of NBA star players.
Sorare was founded in 2018 with a mission to become “the game within the game” where people can connect through their shared passion for football. NBA Commissioner, David Silver, commented on the deal with Sorare:
“Our partnership with Sorare will give NBA fans an entirely new way to engage with our teams and players.”

In July this year, Sorare signed an important deal with the Major League Baseball, making its NFT fantasy game available for baseball enthusiasts.
The platform’s rapid expansion into the North American sports market had been announced by the company’s Growth Lead, Brian O’Hagan, in January when he said that in 2022 they would continue to “build an iconic and global brand” and would also “launch a new sport” to base its successful model on. While iGaming.org then already predicted the next sport would be baseball with a MLB partnership, a deal with the NBA in the same year comes as a positive surprise nevertheless.
