LiveScore Bet seeks to drive Dutch market sustainability with NOGA membership

The Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA) has further expanded its membership body in tandem with Dutch market growth, as LiveScore Bet joins the group.

By joining the association, LiveScore Bet aims to support NOGA’s objective of uniting the Dutch industry, as well as its providers and suppliers, under ‘one banner’ to help promote common interests.

Operated by Anzo Group’s LiveScore Malta Ltd, LiveScore Bet operators as a sports betting and casino brand in the Netherlands, being one of the original eleven to receive a licence under the KOA Act regime on its 1 October 2021 launch date.

Monika Naydenova-Grue, Group Director of Regulatory Compliance at LiveScore Bet, said: “We are pleased to announce our NOGA membership. NOGA has been at the forefront of industry efforts in the Netherlands to build a sustainable remote gaming framework for both operator and consumer, and  with our international experience, we are convinced we can contribute to this even further.”

The addition of LiveScore Bet to NOGA’s ranks marks the first expansion of the association’s membership since January, when Bayton was granted membership, and comes as the Dutch market continues to mature after nearly a year under the KOA Act framework.

Over the past 11 months the market has grown exponentially, with Niels Onkenhout, Chief Executive of Nederlandse Loterij, predicting that up to 20 operators could be active in the country by the end of this year on the SBC Leaders podcast.

The expansion of the betting and gaming space has attracted the attention of legislators, however, with the country apparently set to ban sports sponsorships for and ‘untargeted advertising’ of online games of chance by 2025.

KOA incumbents await for Legal Protections Minister Franc Weerwind to announce the further market protections and new advertising rules to significantly reduce online gambling’s exposure to Dutch audiences and vulnerable consumers.

Commenting on the addition of LiveScore Bet, Peter-Paul de Goeij, Managing Director of NOGA, remarked: “We are pleased that LiveScore Bet, as one of  the early licensees in the Netherlands, has opted to join NOGA.

“LiveScore Bet is a very reputable operator in our industry, putting a safe and secure betting experience at the heart of their operation. We look forward to working with them, and in so doing contribute positively to the policy objective of optimal consumer protection.”
