Coritiba FC renews Dafabet partnership into 2023

Dafabet is targeting continued exposure in the emerging Brazilian betting space, securing a renewal of its partnership with Coritiba Foot Ball Club.

Running until December 2023, the extended contract will see the sportsbook’s branding displayed on Coritiba’s team shirts for the remainder of the season.

John Cruces, Head of Sponsorships at Dafabet, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Coritiba. Our goal is to continue to grow in Brazil. With this year’s Brasileirão being especially strong, being at the front of Coritiba is very important to us. We wish Coxa all the luck in 2023.”

The renewed partnership will make its marketing debut in Coritiba’s fixture against Aruko Sports Brasil FC at the Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira stadium.

One of three clubs in the city of Coritiba, the capital of the state of Paraná, Coritiba FC competes in the top-flight Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and regional Campeonato Paranaense.

The agreement marks Dafabet’s first sponsorship activation for some time, following an agreement with English Premier League side Bouremouth FC in June.

In 2021, the firm began consolidating its brand presence in Brazil, signing deals with Santos FC and Palmeiras, both Série A teams.

Coritiba FC President Glenn Stenger added: “The renewal with Dafabet is part of the club’s new policy of prioritising the sponsors that are already with us. It was a partnership that worked and we are very happy that Dafabet continues to support Coritiba for another season.”

The expansion of Dafabet’s sponsorship strategy in Brazil comes at a crossroads point for betting and gaming in the country after former President Jair Bolsonaro missed the opportunity to regulate the sector last month.

Policy makers had a deadline until 12 December 2022 to approve a federal sports betting framework, something which has been broadly supported politically and publically, but this passed with no legislative action taking place.

Dafabet’s International Executive Director, Kasper Trier, commented on the Coritiba deal: “It is a pleasure for Dafabet to be part of the growth of sports betting and online gaming in Brazil.

“Extending this important sponsorship with Coritiba confirms the company’s commitment to Brazil, the club and the Coxa fans. working together to achieve our goals for this year.”
