Manchester proves to be the big winner for fantasy managers

It proved to be a successful weekend for managers who loaded up on players of Manchester based clubs, with both City and United filling out the top five places of point scorers in gameweek five.

Sergio Aguero top scored with 41 points, helping James Birch keep his place atop the SBC League of Legends.  Aguero‘s partnership with Romelu Lukaku in ‘Cash Hughes’ instrumental in securing the number one spot for another week, with a 32 point cushion.

It was Matt Steer who attempted to steal his thunder though, proving to be the only person to crack the three figure barrier and climbing up to fourth in the process.  The Etihad Stadium based spine of Kyle Walker, David Silva and Aguero claiming 61 of his 102 points.

Following a successful round last weekend, Al Romulus of William Hill retained his top six status with 57 points.  Manchester United’s attacking duo of Lukaku and Henrikh Mkhitaryan contributing over half (33) of his total between them.

SBC itself now has three representatives in the top 15 of this years contest, Charlie Cole the highest of those with his 85 point haul sending him to seventh.  Conall McCabe‘s 79 points saw his side scrape into the top ten, while Andrew McCarron makes up the top 15.

This weekend will see all eyes firmly focused on Pep Guardiola’s side once again, with a very favourable match at home to Crystal Palace, who haven’t mustered a goal or point yet this season.  United travel to ninth place Southampton, while Everton host Bournemouth in an early battle at the bottom of the Premier League.
